Camdodia : Ta Phrom
This is the one which featured in the film Tomb Raiders. It was selected by French archaeologists as a site to be left in its 'natural state' to illustrate what it looked like to 19th Century French explorers. Huge trees are growing over the walls and buildings and it feels as though the jungle will prevail. Conservationists have done selective work but much of the site is still in a state of collapse.

Fascinating blend of buildings and nature
The crowds here are large but it was still possible to find a quiet corner to enjoy the buildings, the trees and wonder at what this must have been like in the 12th Century. New timber stairs and walkways have been added .. my guidebook says that this takes away from the atmosphere but I think that is being a bit precious.
